Had them installed today. They make the car look lower. I don't think lowering would be a good idea.

What's not your style, not lowering it, or the rims themselves?

in general, the aesthetic "ideal" is that the area between the fender and the tire should be equal to or less than the height of the profile of the rubber on the tire.

I think it would look much better if you lower it and get rid of that goofy looking wheel gap. Good looking wheels though!!!!!!

drop it... it's against nature to fight gravity. :)

My issue is with all the negative effects that the car may have. Camber issues, stress on the suspension, potholes are just a few. I remember now what it was like in my Scirocco, the car drove like a go-cart, but it punished my suspension.
I wanna keep it as is this summer, maybe next year I will consider lowering it.

Nick_Hegel Where did you get the Eibach Pro-kit springs. I can't find them anywhere. How much did it lower it front and rear?

Thanks, I agree 100%. Too much hype around here about Mille Miglia this Contour that. My rules for rims are simple.
1. German or Italian
2. Brushed aluminum with a smooth surface all the way around.
3. Rims that have large openings for easy cleaning.
These rims are not flashy or tacky, and the price was good. German made $500.00 :2gun:

Very nice.....simple and classy looking. Lowering?? Um..not so sure, maybe the front just a touch, but you have the same dilema as I do, I like the look of my car just as it is, and it rides and handles lovely to, not so sure I want to lower it and FU all that bavarian engineering expertise! LOL
Best regards David

Thanks for your comments. The bottom line is you have some young people who just can't pimp there ride enough. Age seems to have it's wisdom.
My last car was lowered, it can create more problems than any advantages it provides, but I won't rule it out completely.

Some of my friends made comments about lowering, and the gaps when I got my 17" BMW Motorsports on... I think it looks GREAT the way it is, on your car and mine. And I'm not lowering mine either, don't feel like worrying about bottoming out wherever I go. Not to mention the driveway at my fraternity house has a pretty steep incline.
If you do decide to lower it, I'd go with the Mtech springs for a ti. From comments on this thread and others that seems like the proper approach for you. I feel the same way as you, I don't want to hinder the everyday drivability of my car just to fit someone elses taste.
Car looks very nice!
OEM tuning looks far better than tacky ricey add-ons I think. Very clean-looking Ti.
If you do decide to lower it, I'd go with the Mtech springs for a ti. How much does that lower the car? I have BavAuto springs, which lowered my car well, but I was curious about the kind of drop M-Tech springs give you.

I think your car is coming along nicely... If you like it, that's all that matters.

I try to keep it real, the worst thing you can do is be a "HACK".

What he said. Go for the OEM Mtech springs. Should lower your car +/- .50" and improve handling.

Are these the "stock" M3 springs?
More data! (Especially Part numbers if you have them... :)
Thanks
