I was at an Auto X is SD last month, and I saw an ///M3 Wagon with the S54 engine. It looked pretty killer. I think the guy brought in from Germany.

So are us Cali people going to meet up next weekend or what?

I will not be going with the Caravan as I am leaving the day before. If anyone is interested in meeting up at the event give me a PM and I'll drop you my number and you can give me a ring.

Bimmerfest was great. I have never seen that many BMW's together. The drive was well over 300 cars strong. We backed up the 101 fwy. getting off for Hwy 154. 2 6er's got rolled for doing over a buck on the freeway. I got some pictures that I will post as soon as I get a chance.

I also got to meet Mendi3 another TI forum member. So at least I was not the
only one.

The only thing I could say is: Awesome!

It was great meeting you Chad. I love your ride. The DASC you have it's impresive!

I won a set of new TOYO tires! What else can I ask for? Not sure what the final count was but I've heard close to 300 cars.

Hey Mendi3,
were you the one who revved or honked at me at the 101/154 intersection?
I was the Black 318ti. It was an awesome event. I finally got to see Chads DASCed ti  good stuff.

Was it hard to get the D2S bulbs in the H1 Fog light? I was told that the install is kind of difficult. Did you get them from umnitza?

Haha, I did see you. I was in my car yelling "YEAH TI!!!!!" but my windows were closed. When i opened them you were gone already haha.
Thanks for the complement :) Yours is cool too.
I also saw that silver one, I've met that guy before but i didn't see him on Saturday.

Mendi3
04-25-2005, 09:53 PM
It's not that bad. You have to drill a hole into the Fog light housing (side)and then slide the bulb. I saw Matt from Umnitza do it. I'm about 30 minutes from him so it was easier for me to take to him, but now I know how to do it.

Diego(SP?),

I hopt I got one right. Just wanted to throw you a congrats for the tires. If I recall correctly you got the Yokohama's.

I bet that made the trip all the way down to SB worth while.

Did you go party on State St? Or did you just learn how crappy it is to drive on it.

Chad,

Yeah man, I got a set of Toyo Tires (Proxes). I have the following choices: T1-S, RA-1 or 4. I have to decide which model. Any suggestions?

The cool thing is that I can choose any size up to 18". Great prize! I won't be needing tires for another 6 months, but the voucher is good for a year. Maybe I'll get the new set right before the next bimmerfest.

I did go party for a little bit but you are right, it was crappy driving on State St.

Hey Chris, don't feel bad. You can still look at pictures from the bimmerfest. Here is a good link.

Diego,

Nice Toyo's are really awesome so I am told. My friend runs the T1-S and is really happy with them, I think they are comprable if not better then a Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s. I think that that RA-1 is a racing tire so the traction would be incredible they just would not last that long. Don't know anything about the 4 so no help there.

Thanks for the feedback on the tires. The T1-S looks the nicest. Those are the ones I like the most.

Hi all. This year was my 4th year attending bimmerfest, and boy was it fun. I drove up as co-pilot in my dads E34 M5 and while I was there, I met up with a guy and bought a 1995 Alpine white 318ti. I really like the car, it being my first BMW and all. My other car, a 2001 Passat wagon 1.8t chipped is about 3 times faster than the ti, but going from FF to FR is a whole new experience. Although I bought the ti' modded, I have so many plans for it. I'll have pictures up of it later, but if anyone noticed I was the only white ti' there. I'm not sure who I talked with who had the SC'd blue ti', but if you're out there I just want to say whats up. Overall I saw about 3 ti's at the show, more than I expected. Hopefully next year I'll know more of you and be able to meet up and chat. Thanks - T
