I thought there was quite a bit of discussion here somewhere not to go with Bosch but rather the NKGs, which I thought were stock, because of some engine damage issue

i'm going with bosch as was original in my car. however, i'm not going with bosch platinums (+2 or +4), just the "regular" ones. you can find the part number at www.realoem.com/bmw (need last 7 digits of your VIN) i believe. i'm not sure when they switched between bosch and ngk, but i think both plugs are good.

Regular platinums or just regular copper (I think) plugs? I'd use atleast a platinum plug if for no other reason than they last alot longer.

regular, non-platinum plugs (just like what was original on the car). i think i'm going to cycle into changing them every summer. i have over 200k and it'll be good to check condition, if there's any leaks, etc.. spark plugs are cheap :)

I put in last year platnum 4's and i have no complaints about them, car runs fine. I personally don't like the NGK's.
