I have a 97 ti with 82,000 miles, i bought the car about 6 months ago with 75,000, i dont remember what the clutch was like then but now it seems like i have to just about let the clutch completely out before it will catch, is this normal? is there an adjustment? any help is appreciated, thanks

its definitely possible for it to be dead,I think a new clutch is in your future, search in the tranny forums for what and where to get one, goodluck :)

It is adjustable, unfortunately it has to be done from inside the transmission so it will set you back a pretty penny.
I would just wait for it to start sliping before thinking about replacing.

Bleed your clutch and brakes and put new fluid in. Use ATE blue racing fluid and buy the euro power bleeder. You can do it yourself with the power bleeder and even if it doesn't fix the clutch, it is good preventive maintenance.

Cloudaway,
Any news on this? I just bought mine, and the clutch catches very close to the end of the pedal travel for me as well. Maybe it is normal, but I want to gather some more information. I may bleed the clutch and brakes to see if it improves...

i have put around 500 or so more miles on my car since i posted this and there is still no change, runs great, clutch doesnt seem to slip at all, that i can tell. it just catches high! so i think i will buy a new one off ebay or somewhere and just keep it in the trunk for when i need it> because, if it isnt broke dont fix it!
