Hey folks,
I'm a bit confused about the correct cabin filters. The writeup on here and the bavarian autosport list one part number (64 11 8 363 274) as being the correct cabin microfilters, but the factory manual and this ebay listing:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=7976703152&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT

list (64-31-9-071-933) as being the correct part number. Are there two types, or is one place off? Are there different filters for the heater and the A/C? Thanks for your help.

I have a 98ti and i bought new ones for my car from bavauto.com. I'm not sure if it is the same as yours,i still haven't put them in but i know there the correct ones. I'll give you the part number when i go home. Personally i wouldn't believe anything ebay had posted for our cars. I'd go by bavauto before ebay.

Thanks. I'm inclined to agree and trust bavauto; I'm just confused because my ETK manual also lists the part number on ebay. Weird. Providence is hell for air filters though :?

East side, up close to Pawtucket. Border between nice and crappy area, but that's how grad school is. Nice looking ride, by the way.

Looks like a nice area from the pics. We (wife and I) might try moving closer to the water when our lease runs out. Had about enough of living next to a hospital and Main st. Heard there are nice areas out there, just gotta find them!

Yeah it's nice here,i've only been here a year but it was nice out here last summer.
Anyways i just checked my cabin filters that i have and you want to go by the bavauto.com I bought mine from them a few months ago but haven't got a chance to put them in. Only thing that sucks about our car is you need 2 of them so thats about $40.

i've ordered the filters (ACC cabin filter) from bimmerparts.com each time and they've been the correct ones. http://catalog.eautopartscatalog.com/zygmunt/wizard.jsp?partner=zygmunt&clientid=www.bimmerparts.com&baseurl=http://www.bimmerparts.com/&cookieid=1BF00HVFB1J410HW6C&year=1996&make=BM&model=318-TI-002&category=All&part=ACC+Cabin+Filter

there's a write up on cabin filters here (in the notebook), or on www.unofficialbmw.com (which is think is more useful since it has pics). i've done them a couple times now and will be doing them again soon.
