So i finally put in my new rotors and pads yesterday, only took 3 months. I should've known better that everything was gonna go smoothly. Spent 2 1/2 hours working on the drivers side, cause the hold down bolt was stripped. We tried everything to get it out without doing any damage and nothing worked so we had to drill them out and broke 2 drill bits in the process(like 60 bucks there) We finally got it removed and put the new brakes on without putting a new lock down bolt on. On the passenger side the lock down bolts were stripped there also, what a pain in the ass,a simple 1 1/2 job turns out to be 4 hours. I'm glad i don't have to do brakes for awhile, got atleast another year or so b4 i do the rears Just need another nice weekend to paint my calipers.

It will be easier next time. The rotor retaining bolt does not have to real tight.
I also use anti-seize whenever I remove them. The last time I replaced rotors it was very easy to remove the bolt. The carrier bolts usually are a pain to remove. It takes a long breaker bar.

I've had this car for about 4yrs now and this was the first time i did the brakes. We used that lock unfreeze on the tire to remove it. We sprayed it in the lug nuts hole and within a minute i touched the tire and it came loose. We tried it on the lock snaps but since it was stripped we couldn't budge them.

I know just how you feel! The first time I did my rotors and pads it took like four hours on a saturday and then two hours that sunday. I had to split it up cause I ran out of sunlight and it got too cold. I was super worried I was going to strip bolts somewhere, but I got lucky!!!
