Got my Scirocco started yesterday, after not running it since last August.
It's going up on Ebay very soon.

Would you believe the Scirocco will blow the Ti away in stock form? I was amazed how sluggish the Ti felt when I first test drove it.

that's because the shift knob you have on the scirocco makes it SUPER FAST! ;)

you don't like black at all, do you mike? black ti, black scirocco, black 911 ... ;) damn that thing's clean (like all your cars - i'll make an assumption on the 911 :p)
L8's scirocco is probably faster though ... you don't have the SUPER FAST knob :evil_lau:

Eric, you figured it out, I like black! LOL. The only other car I owned post '81 that wasn't black was the '91 GTI 2.0 16V that was that green/blue/turquoise whatever shade, thought it looked cool and flashy at first but hated it after 2 months. Wasn't as fast as the 1.8 Scirocco. Kept it less than a year and traded it for the black '92 Corrado SLC VR6. Loved that car but really unreliable, that was my last regular driver before the ti. Also had a black '77 SAAB 99EMS (great car) and a black '84 Rabbit GTI (another of my favorites along with the ti and the Opels). The '88 911 is showroom with only 29K. You can say I'm proud of my cars, it is probably my greatest passion.

My Scirocco is a 1988 too. I wish I had pics of it, when I bought it. The guy I got it from took excellent care of it. I picked it up in Dec 1997. It has every option ever put in the Scirocco's. So many new parts in that car, I'm gonna cry no matter what I sell it for. :?
Here's my old '88 Scirocco 16V.
Reminds me of my old 88 Isuzu Impulse. I forget who the designer was, but he did the Scirroco and the Impulse.

GDB, the Impulse and the 2nd generation Scirocco did have the same designer, Georgetto Giugiaro. It's funny how I remembered a detail like that from so long ago.

Yeah, that's true. I remember seeing that Impulse and thinking how similar it looked to the Scirocco.

He was the dude in the mid 80's. Lots of work for Ferrari, Lambo, etc. Yah the first Impulse rocked! In a similar style I still lust over Chrysler Conquests/Mitsu Starions. RWD, 4 cyl turbo, kicked ass in it's day. And the interior is straight up Knight Rider!

Oh yeah. Digital dashes are awesome when they work

I just recently found out that my friends little brother who bought my 87 16v Scirocco (my first car) flipped the car 2 times and totaled the car. He is OK so that all that matters but Im bummed that my first car is rubbish.

Those were some of the best of the Japanese in the 80's, the Starion and Conquest. Always liked those cars, rwd and all. I liked the fender flares on the Conquest, look a lot like the flares on a 944.

Man I must be psychic. This car was on my mind, and sure enough look who designed it.
"The SVX was Subaru's attempt to enter the once-popular luxury/performance car category. The prototype was designed by renowned designer Giorgetto Giugiaro of ItalDesign. Subaru produced around 25,000 SVXs from 1992 through 1997 (about 14,000 of these were imported to the United States)."

I seem to remember him (Giugiaro) having a hand in the design of the Delorean
