so can i just buy a cone air intake and throw it on the end of that plastic piece (you know remove the box and the tubing and just put it on)
or would it be a good idea to buy like, a piece of piping and throw that on there too?
any input would be cool :biggrin:

You really need more then a better flowing filter. Piping would be good it will help increase air velosity before going through the MAF. You may also want to think about running a pipe to the bumper or something for colder air.
If you just add a filter in the engine compartment with no heat shield you might actually lose performance do to the increase in intake temperature.

m44ic- did you just remove the airbox and throw a filter on the end of that and then install a heat shield? or is that all new piping?
