finally got my short shifter in and it is awesome. smooth crisp and little play when in gear. :caffine:

here is my 2 cents on the install, instead of turning the bearing ring that holds the shifter in I would highly recommend removing the 2 clips off the shift linkage and shift bracket on the tranny and just pull the hole shift assembly out so you can remove the bearing that goes and around the pivot point of the shift rod while your not under the car. it will save you a lot of time than trying to turn it with flat head screw drivers while under the car as the directions say. estimated install time should be about an hour.

cool ... i just ended up ordering the z3 shifter and a bunch of refresh parts plus delrin bushings. i'll install it once i get everything moved to denver. gotta get a new knob too, damn thing keeps popping off on 1->2 shifts when it's really hot out.

Which ssk did you get? I had mine install from understeer, the one with 50% reduction. Its great but its a little too notchy for me.

good to know. i think the z3 shifter i ordered gets you something like a 28% reduction too. i really didn't want to shorten it too much. glad you like the b&m! my buddy used to have a b&m in his old firebird :)
