my steering has been off since i got run up the back off. he has had it inspected and got the wheel alignment checked out.

He said the rear left toe is was off a fair bit

my mechanic has told me that something is bent in the rear suspension and it is most likely the rear crossmember.

he wants me to take it to bmw to get it fully checked out and fixed there.

is this a common thing to get bent from a rear impact?

can someone explain to me what the rear crossmember is any diagrams?

is it in the center of the car pararllel to the sides of the car?

he said its going to be expensive? is this because that part can't get replaced and they have to bend it back straight or something :(((
