Boring out the Intake Manifold???

I'm getting another intake manifold for real cheap and am thinking of getting it bored out. My friend said he will do it for me and all I need to get is a new gasket.

Has anyone done this? Did you feel any gains or sound?

I know boring out the TB is supposed to help. I don't know about the actual intake manifold.
