Hi guys,
My car is a 1999 M44 Ti with a manual gearbox.
My question is if anyone can tell me what he oil in it is from factory. My mechanic has looked at it and said that there are 2 types of "lifetime" oils but he cannot find which one it is.
BMW are also not real forthcoming with info just stating that it is a lifetime and fill and does not need replacing.
In my job as an aircraft maintenance analyst I find it very difficult to believe that the fluid in my gearbox will do for the lifetime of the car with no detrimental effects.
My car has now done 89000 Kms but I would still like to change the oil for the correct stuff if I can. Otherwise what would people reccomend.
I drive my car with spirit and enjoy twisties on the local roads.
