Has anyone driven at Gingerman raceway in Mich? I'm curious about what kind of times people were pulling with their TIs. That way I can compare and see how I'm doing. Thanks

I am assuming you are talking about driving schools and not races.
Don't worry about other people's times. Just be consistent and smooth. A stock ti needs to carry momentum.

That is exactly what Ben Burrell said. A 318ti is a great car for beginners because I would learn how to carry momentum. Then when ever I would increase power or get a better car he said I would be better skilled.
Laguna Seca - 1:53
Sears Point - 1:59
Thunderhill - 2:17
Buttonwillow (#1CCW) - 2:18
San Jose Downtown - 1:22.1 ;)
Sorry - haven't been to any tracks on the east coast. My car's engine is stockish but the suspension isn't.
Certainly though, the first to going fast even while seriously racing is thinking about not making any mistakes. If you do that, the speed will follow.

What do you have as far as suspension set up?

Those times were mostly set with SA Konis in GC Coilovers and Camber/Caster plates. The faster time at SP & LS I ran 245/45x16 Victoracers, but mostly running 15" toyo RA-1s on stock rims recently. The USTCC races require the Hankook Ventus Z211 in a 235/40x17, which are a pretty good tire too. I just put AD shocks on this summer which are veeeerrrryyyyy nice.

I just got back from the drag strip for the last time this year. I ran a 15.9 with an uncorrected altitude time. I was curious what my sea level time and I found the correction factors. My best run of the night equated to a 15.7 time, and my best time ever equated to a 15.6.

15.9's isn't too bad. Believe it or not that's on par with a lot of the "muscle cars" of days gone by. Here's a pretty cool link to some 0-60 times and 1/4 mile times for most common cars.
