I've driven across the US a few times but the most exciting was when we drove from Tempe AZ to Columbus OH straight through. Approx 2100 miles in about 30 hours. I will never do that again.

Well, it looks like this is going to turn into a "my drive was longer than yours" thread, so I'll toss a few candidates into the fray:

Nashville -> St. Augustine, FL -> Nashville -- 20 hours straight, don't remember the mileage.

Nashville -> Minneapolis -> Nashville -- 2 days total, approx. 15-16 hours each way. Drove up, slept 6-7 hours and drove back.

I've also done a couple of drives to Utah and to Las Vegas that were 2 days out, 1-2 days there, and 2 days back. Those were both about 1800-1900 miles one way.

I wouldn't have done any of those but I was getting paid to do it. :-)

heh heh heh... how ironic that you should reply. Care to guess where my next drive will take me to? Let me put it this way... consider yourself warned. If you feel "a disturbance in the force," you'll know what is causing it. heh heh heh

I lost the radio after taking a sharp turn in New Brunswick, CA.:frown:

Now my cross country drives are divided into shorter legs.

I think it was 550 miles each way. Took my baby up to 115 MPH on a nice open stretch of Vermont. Oh yeah, that was going down hill
