Hey gang,..
I made the factory airbox on my 95 Ti less restrictive by using 3 1/2" PVC pipe and fiberglass screen. I removed the factory cone intake pipe and replaced it with the pipe. My goal was to make the stock airbox less restrictive without fogging it. It saved me the hassle of relocating the horn and drilling another hole in the airbox. Car sound healthier and revs faster. Do you think this setup is good? am I gonna break anything?? I need opinions.
Thanks

Good job on taking the baffle out of the tub of the airbox, but I think it may be sucking up more hot hair. DO you have the M44 engine? If so, that piping running across the top of the radiator sucking up air from behind the passenger side headlight would be cooler.

I'm not positive about the air temp thing, but it does look like a less restrictive system.

I have an M42. MY only concern is the hot air but the PVC pipe is pointed in the same direction and sucking pretty much the same air as the factory piping so it probably isn't that bad.

The screen is more restrictive than the stock air tube was.
Why the screen? If you have an air filter you don''t need it...
You likely made noise not power with this mod.

I wish more folks would use chassis dyno's or g-meters to test so
the really effective mods could be documented. <rant mode off... :) >

because its like cloth over the tubing, probably causing alot of resistance..... better off putting mesh there to stop the bigger bits and letting the air filter do the rest....

Take any window screen and try and swing it broadside through the air.

Or try and spray water through it from 10 feet away.

My buddy did the same thing. He didnt put a screen on it or anything. His hole was just a key shaped hole. So far no problems on his 95'.
