Ideally I'd like to hear about Compacts with M3 front suspension and brakes and Z3M rear axle. What about understeer ? Is it really a major issue ?

Any info/advice will be highly appreciated.

Honestly, it all depends on your set up. I used to track a '75 911 running 205/60 15 and 215/50 15's street tires and although not as quick as my 330ti, the Porsche was much more fun and involving. Nothing compares to a 911 for driving enjoyment.

That being said, my 330ti is very fast. I had it out at Limerock shortly after buying it and I was easily passing all of the e36 cars, and keeping up with an e46 M3. I couldn't pass this on particular 540 on the straights, but definitely owned him in the twisties. The 540 has huge torque. See my sig for my cars powertrain mods.

My car is 54%f to 46%rear weight distrubtion, 2900 lbs, corner balanced. The front suspension consists of coilover converted M3 struts with aluminum control arms, aligned to M3 specs (additional castor/camber). The rear are stock trailing arms with M Coupe shocks and springs. Tires are Bridgstone S03's, 245/40-17R and 225/45-17.

Overall, the car felt neutral, maybe a little push cuz the car felt "safe" the whole time, but I doubt I reached the limits of the car. I ran out of talent way before the car's capabilites. The tail never felt loose. I'm sure it could have used more tire up front. I may go to 235's up front next time around.
