I am now the new owner of a Jet Black 1995 318TI. While surfing for more info about my new baby i found this site http://www.unofficialbmw.com/e36/electrical/e36_reset_service_lights.html
Has anyone tried this "fix"? If so Did it work? and are there any things that may be at risk by trying this?
Thanks

I've done it many times. You only need a paperclip or small piece of wire :)
There's no need to get an exact 3.25 or 11 seconds, counting in your head works just fine.

Glad to know that other people are doing this to reset the service lights. I do not have to buy a $50 tool to do the job.
