Automatic to Manual Trans

I'm interested to see if anyone has converted their 318ti from an automatic to a manual, I want to do this asap, but I want to know what I'm getting myself into, and also what all parts I'll need.

there is an official auto -> manual swap thread on bimmerforums. I'm sure a lot of it applies. There was also at least one long thread here too- did you search?
