Finally found the one good point the M44 has over the M42, a HFM it seems.
but I haven't found a kit that does the swap in a boxed form online. Is there one?

You might look to Jim C. on this one. I don't think you can just swap them out. If I remember correctly the AFM gets it's reading from a single source (the AFM), while the HFM gets it's reading from a combination of the HFM and the temp sensor. Can anyone verify? I believe this is one of the sensors that is different between the OBD1 and OBD2 cars.
I guess you could convert to OBD2, but nobody does that...

ODB2? Is that, that new rapper we are all hearing about?
j/k
going from an ODB II to ODB I car is nice, so much easier.
going from a 97 Ti to a 95 ClubSport. Wow, I see where I went wrong with the first one.

There are some differences, hoever they can be swapped. It used the ARC II from Split Second AFM => MAF kit. There is some wiring that needs to be done as well.
Basically the AFM is AFM and a temp sensor where the MAF has a separate temp sensor. They do the same things opperate within 0 - 5 volts and tell the computer how much fuel to inject.
