Looks like a projector, not magic.

If anyone invented something in the Pacific, it would be the Japanese. Especially this technology. As for new, not so much... the US Army has been working on a similar psuedo camo for years as part of its future soldier technology branch. This type of tech. was featured at least 3 years ago in Popular Science. Therefore, more likely, they aren't the pioneers.

It's not a projector or magic... it's a "new"..(once again, been around for years) LCD type screen that actually feels more like fabric than an actual traditional screen. Tiny cameras are built into the jacket, and somehow the built in computer sends the images where they need to be on the fabric.

Nice find BTW, been wondering when they'd make it public... especially since the US Government has been keeping eyes off their project. Think of active camo, Halo style.

blue; I don't think it's an implementation of that system (partly because OLED hasn't reached that stage yet). I'll agree with Dusten that it's a projector.

Note how the print on the jacket doesn't line up, because he's standing a few feet in front of the background. Later on, as he's closer to it, it isn't nearly as mis-matched. This implies a fixed projection point.
