I want a bigger engine for y car. The problem is that I don't have the money for an m3 engine. So wat is your recommendation? can I go for th m52 328 engine or is it easyer to install a m50 vanos 325 engine?
Also I would like a check list for all the bits that I will need because I tried to find one but I couldn't.
Another issue is the batery. Where do I place it inside my tronk because I just can't see where it could sit.
Thanks.

My suggestion is that if you can't afford an m3 engine, you won't have enough money to finish your 2.8 swap if you run into any kind of issues during the swap

Go for an m50; you get to retain the obd-1 and you can pick the engines up for cheap. Having driven a ti with an m50 in it, I can tell you that it still goes pretty good, a big step up from the m42, especially in the torque of the inline-six.

Ok. Depending on what engine I will find, either a m50 or a 2.8 m52, I will need the engine ti self all the wireing computers and that stuff. Can I use the gear box, drive shaft and dif from my m42 engine and just swap in the m50/m52 engine in?

your going to need the wiring from 6cyl, dme, engine. if you can pick up 2.8 cheap go that route. install m3 cams later with 3.5" hfm setup and you can have around 210rwhp.

Ti's were not made untill 1995. Are you sure it's a 94ti?

Actually, I think that I read somewhere that the BMW compact was availiable in other contries before it was in the U.S. market. Mainly Europe thou, so if i'm not mistaken he might really have a 94 Ti.

I thought production for this model started in all countries in 95. The us was 95-99 and europe still has them but the e46 series.

Ahh, I found it. "The introduction of new models continued in 1994: Overall length of 4.21 metres or 165.7´´, space for 4–5 and/or all kinds of luggage, two doors plus a large tailgate, and an attractive price – those are the highlights of the 3 Series compact introduced in two versions in 1994: the 316i in April and the 318is in autumn." It's a 10/1994 ti straight from germany. Compacts were produced starting 4/1994 till 2001 when the new compact was launched.
