I know i've seen it.......but I just dont know where to get one. I'm looking to find one for a custom project i'm thinking about doing with my rieger rear bumper.

http://i25.imagethrust.com/t/70835/bumpercollar.jpg (http://i25.imagethrust.com/p/70835/bumpercollar_jpg.html)

Please tell me I'm not crazy.............I want one bad. To describe it, it's like an "exhaust collar" that would go around the muffler tips in order to keep it from burning the bumper. Thats the best I can do.

p.s. Please excuse the craptastic Microsoft Paint job.

I've seen that done, but never on a ti. With something like that you need to be careful how big you go with it so it doesn't look bulky, otherwise it's going to look incredibly out of place and cobbled.

I saw something like it in Germany recently. I think it is made by Foliatec.
Good luck.

Thanks for the tip. I found something similar thru Folia Tec. I guess it's called a Racing Look Exhaust Trim. If you guys find anything, keep those tips coming.

thanks,

You're not crazy, but if you're going to do it, do it right.

The metal lip is to allow the fairing material to more closely hug the open space (better aerodynamics). Obviously, you have to have a little play area since the exhaust shakes.

What I would do is measure the combined area of the tips, and using a compass and ruler, sketch this out on paper. Grab the exhaust and see how much you can move it to the sides, and add the highest distance evenly all-around the tips.

Make photocopies of the sketch, and search for a fabrication shop that does "water-jet" cutting. It should be fairly easy to find in your area. Have them punch it out in the aluminum of your thickness, and secure it with speed-nuts.

If you're good with autocad, or have a friend that is, I'd get a dxf of the template done, since most jet-cutters are CNC, and this will be the bulk of the cost.

Otherwise, should run you under $20 for a totally custom piece.

Thanks for the tip........not to sound dumb, but what is autocad? Some sort of design program?
