Here goes with my first question!
I'm looking to replace my (nasty) steel wheels with a set of alloys.
I've been looking at the Styling 44, as featured on the following site:

Will they fit? Any opinions on whether they will make the ride too hard?
Finally, do you reckon they'll look any good !

You should be able to find those on ebay. They came stock on some e46s. Good luck.

Yep, I've got my eye on a set ;) Just wondering if they'll suit, based on the criteria in my earlier post. I'm after an OE looking set of wheels, and these would seem to fit the bill.
I believe they are 8x17s, with 225/45 tyres, and 47mm offset

Check the "For Sale" forums on www.e46fanatics.com. It seems like there are always tons of them for sale.

I think that's the most confirmation you're going to get. Personally, I'd be willing to go on that.
You could also go down to your dealer and request to purchase a set, and ask them there if you want a 100% confirmation.

Wait. That should be 225/40R17.

Thought I'd post the results in case anyone wants to fit a set of these in future.
They fit with no problems, and seem to suit the car quite well.

Type 44 wheels are 17X7 size wheels, I've tried using the style 54 wheels. Supposedly these styles (including 45) have similar offset; 36-41 and will fit 318tis perfectly. The appropriate tyres for the style 44s are 215/225/235-45-17. I sold the wheels after 3 months and upgraded to 17" wheels style 24 with a slightly deeper offset, but regretting the rougher ride. I also upgraded my suspensions.
Good luck.
