View Full Version : Weird Noise at my feet

This is gonna be hard to discribe but I need to try. When I'm shifting through 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and sometimes 5th gear and get above 3500 - 4000 RPM \it sounds like my clutch petal is whining. Its a loud whining almost like a weird spring creaking noise that gets louder as the RPM increases. I can press slightly on the clutch petal about a 1/4" and the noise goes away. Does anyone know what this might be? Has anyone else on here experienced anything like this?

Sounds like a throwout bearing. How old is your clutch?

I don't think its the throwout bearing because I just changed my clutch last summer. I think its the clutch pedal itself.

Aren't there springs for the pedals? I wonder if the spring is F'ed up.

Typically.....as I have experienced this with my preious cars......the whining noise from the clutch pedal tells me that the clutch plate is going. My worry with your statement that this was replaced last year is that they never adjusted the cable to free up the friction on the plate.....as if one is driving with one's left feet resting on the clutch pedal not on the dead pedal.
I would look into the clutch cable, and hopefully your clutch hasn't worn out yet.
Good luck!!

what clutch cable would you be referring to? it's a hydraulic clutch.
