Well this is an ongoing problem, but I have been driving around for a while now with my engine swap and am tired of my screwed up tachometer. Does anybody have any suggestions regarding things I can do to wire up an aftermarket tach. Or, do I have to just buy a 6 cylinder dash pod. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

It would help if you gave a little more of a decsription of your problem.

from the "everything needed for a swap" thread, you need a 6-cyl cluster.

Just like he said above, this is one of the requirements.

The swap is already done and I have been driving for a while now with it. It is just doubling the revs on the 4cyl cluster. I guess I will have to get the 6 cyl cluster and thats it.

I think the BMW TIS has steps on how to calibrate the the TI cluster to work with a 6 cyl engine. I will see if I can find them later today.

I had located some sketchy information on this procedure, but have no idea how to work it out. Hopefully, the information you get will 'fill in the blanks'...
