cool ... my friend had a 78 or 79 targa with the SC motor too. he sold it when he moved back to WI because he said he "couldn't do that to the car" (ie, driving it in the crappy WI winters). he'd gotten that thing pretty much back up to spec in terms of suspension and everything and it handled VERY well. you just have to get used to accelerating pretty much all the way through turns (a little different than most cars). mickd on the forum also has a 911.

you guys with the e30 m3s ... lucky dogs! hard to find good examples without paying a mint any more :(
