Is that an S50 motor, not an S52?
I thought the oil filter was different on S52.
The foglights are hideous but I guess who cares?

It's funny that the ad has no mention in what kind of motor it is. I don't like the exhaust pipe stickling out the rear so far and it has the active front bumper.

bet this is it again, although with some of the scratches fixed.

It was probably 2 years ago that I was trying to make a purchase on this car. It was at that same dealer "Laurel BMW." The guy I was dealing with was named Rick. He was one of the worst BMW salesman I have ever dealt with. The car was finally sold but now it appears it is back. It did not have those seats in it. My guess is that it was bought and abused and for whatever reason they have it again.

Story was that a regular customer of theirs bought it new and had a local well known BMW shop install the M3 engine and Dinan stuff. So the car was legit. The owner got tired of it and got another new BMW - M5 I think. Again, this is the story I got from "Rick."

From the ad, "Yes, one owner and well maintained." BS?

I cant believe they didn't modify the body at all. Still a nice looking car.

no a US M swap is nothing now they are around, and most of them are beat cars, abused and not taken care of and then put up on the block. If they were so great more people would keep them...maybe it just me, but I tend to keep my cars for years.

now a alloy M52B28 swap or a Euro S50B32 would impress me here in the states more than just a M3 engine.

still after driving a 323 coupe, even with the Hp, My M42 revving ability and gearing makes it a much more fun car, and the LS also gives it that nudge into the "fun car" cat. The power thing can be handled...but I am hoping a 8lb Flywheel will def free up some of the engine's effort.

notices more ODB II swaps than I, but then more ODB II Tis.

Ha, I love how it's a "Dinan" Ti because it has an intake... hillarious.

yea that's 2pts if I remember.

I still consider Hartge at the top of the BMW tuners.

Ha, I love how it's a "Dinan" Ti because it has an intake... hillarious.Probably more than just the intake. You need to spend x dollars to wear the DINAN badge. Unles you buy it from someone.

I got the scoop on this one. Local car and they are asking $18K. Looks alright from exterior walk around. What I hear is, this was the dealership's track car that was used to entice those with more money than brains out of their wallets and into a new M3/M5 or whatever. From what I hear, they are willing to negotiate as they are ready to sell. My neighbor, whom is #2 on this dealership's list to purchase his 2006 M6, told me the story.

looks pretty nice. wonder what they have the reserve set at.

I would pay maybe 15k for it.

True, although the apparent lack of knowledge about the car in the ad (no details at all!) leads me to suspect otherwise...

You can buy fakes on ebay, too....

Laurel BMW is a DINAN dealer so they probably slapped on the badges to boost the selling price. It does look solid as far as the engine swap goes.

Excuse me but i have those foglights on my car.

If this was there track car then i'd offer them 56k for it. That thing was probally beat to S%*t just like dealerships demo cars but worse.
