SSDD Motorsport in the UK sell a kit that you can "insert" in to your existing headlights.
I bought it and while the directions were not for my model head lights I did manage to get them in and they look good.

The only down side is that they have a faint blueish tinge to them until they are fully warmed up, but you only notice it at night.

the address is:

http://www.ssdd-motorsport.com

I would like to provide photos but I can't upload at this satge but they have photos of the install on the website.

Thier after sales service was great when a ring and one of the inverters packed it in a week after the install.

I also fitted angel rings in my euro ellipsoid headlights & I'm well pleased with them. If you decide to diy, get CCFLs (cold cathode fluorescent light) they're much brighter than even the OEM 5 series rings. I've got a pdf on how to fit them if anyone's interested.

yes, we get different headlights to the US. Amoungst other things, I think they get a plastic frount where as we get glass.

One mistake I made with these was buying the E36/E46 fitment. The E46 has slightly smaller diameter lights, it looks ok but I'm thinking about getting some larger ones so they fit perfectly.

Lights off - check out my new mirrors

cheers...yup, CCFLs come with inverters as they are actually mini fluorescent tubes. They took a morning to fit, it's a bit fiddly but pretty straight forward really. I'm loving my new mirrors, the baseplates need respraying but that can wait till it warms up a bit.
