I was wondering if any has ever seen a E46 m3 engine swap in a ti??
Can it be done? If so what parts would I need? What kinda of cost are we talking? 333hp is pretty sick...

well if you have a club Sport I wouldn't do it to that one.

I would pick up a 95 Base to use as a base for the project.

but it's going to be expensive, I've only seen 1 e36 a coupe with the S54 transplant. In Reality a Euro S50B30(286hp stock 300+ modified) would be easier and cheaper to install.

I've never heard of a ti with a s54 but see no reason why you shouldn't do it other than the expence. It would be more cost effective to use a S50 or s52 but if you have the cash,go for it, it'd be a first afaik.

S54s are electronicly controlled, while S50 and the US S52 are mechanical

It's the hell of the job doing the patch work wiring, system meshing, and other electronic nitpicking that makes the S54 ungainly as a swap. Plus the engines are still expensive to find. Even the Trans are $$$

A Euro S50B32 makes 320hp and is soo much easier than a S54 would be, and at less than 7k for a S50 cheaper too. and The Euro B32 came with a 6spd Gearbox if you want to have that.

The BMW club racers are using an S54 more and more in the e36 body. The S54 is become the engine for them to use. They do usually lock the camshafts though and run a stand alone management system. The S50B32 would be much easier.

true, but there is a differance between a road car and a track car.

The Stand alone is the key point. I hate the post 96 electronics, so I wouldn't even bother with this. esp when a Euro S50B30 is plug and play and with a chip pushing out 300hp..which is too much for the Ti anyways. 200hp can be handful...140hp can be a handfull too as I found out in the wet last night. ;)

It can be done, but why when they are better overall routes.
