I rank that near the red LED tailpipe lights I saw last night.

Any guesses on if that's DOT approved?

The DOT doesn't actually approve stuff. It's just a manufacturer statement that the product complies with current NHTSA provisions.

ok, give me a fighting chance here.....

i was on the M25 last night and was behind a mitsubishi pick-up and on its high-level rear light it had been blacked out to say "L200" (the model) so when they put their brakes on what you saw were the 2 normal brakelights (Right + Left) and the centre brakelight read L200. it looked really good without looking too OTT. does anyone think it would be possible with the high level light in our cars to read "318ti"? like some kind template you could cut to fit between the glass and the light housing? maybe even "318ti.org" but the lettering might be a bit small.

does anyone get my drift?

you lot might hate it but i think i'll have a go.

Remove light from hatch.

Stick on the "318 ti" bit from a "3i8 ti.org" sticker, paint semi-gloss black, allow to dry, remove sticker.

Sit back and have a tea.

Done.

Yeah I dont mind the roundell on the lights but I hate the flames. Im not a big fan of smoked lights either. It would be cool to have lights that said 318ti though.
