I finally got around to weighing the lone Style 18, "Round Spoke Styling" wheel sitting in my apartment. This is the 16" x 7" ET:46 that came on the Sport model 318ti. I took it to the post office and weighed it on their digital scale so I assume the number is quite accurate. Also, the wheel was completely bare; no valve stem, no weights, no center logo cap.

No real story or question here, just some facts for the archives and searchers ;)

19 lbs. 12 oz.

(19.75 lbs.)

Oh wow, I assumed they weighed alot less than that. I know the 15s will be a little less, but not much.

I have 16" round spokes from a z3 and they are different geometry from the 318ti's 16's believe it or not. I had both in my basement at one time but did not weigh because they had different tires on each set. The z3 round spokes are thinner front-to-back and flat on the back side. To my knowledge the ti version had thick walls wrapping further back. The ti version also had small writing around the center cap area on the front of the wheel. None on the z3. Makes me guess they reduced the weight for z3's.

Hmmm, very interesting. Yep these have the writing around the center cap. The spoke also wraps backs a bit, making a "dish-like" channel on the back side of the spoke. I know exactly what you mean.

EDIT: Just looked at realoem.com and the 16x7 "Style 18" wheel listed in the Z3 section has a different part number. Both are listed as "7JX16 ET:46", so dimesionally they are the same.

Z3: 36 11 1 094 106
318ti: 36 11 1 182 529
