This is the main reason my car sits safely in the garage all winter. Salt 'fog' gets everywhere- even where the water doesn't splash.

i never had that luxury (being able to leave it in the garage). it was my daily driver through 9 winters in WI and IL :(

Ha! I thought I was the only one who removed those! Anyway, I found about 2lbs of mud in the cavity where the fender transitions into the running boards...after hosing that out, the car handles so much better! Heh, j/k I'm just kinda particular like that.
