What is the stock gear ratio on the ti's?
I drive at high speeds quite often when taking
long journeys, or even putting around town.
I frequently drive at 115mph, but dont like
the screaming RPMs, but i dont want to lose
much acceleration.
Whats a good medium? And which LSD has
that good ratio in it?
5th gear is a 1:1 and the rear end is a 3.45:1 for the manual and a 4.44:1 for the auto

you could try a Z3 M44 diff. It should lower those rpms a bit but still keep much of the acceleration.

i'm doubting the z3 m44 diff is a different ratio. anyone know for sure?

As far as i know, m44 z3 & ti diffs are the same...4.44 for the auto & 3.45 for the 5-speed. Just checked Bavarian auto recycling & they sell the same diffs for the z3 & ti as well.

What kind of top speed do you have with that? Seems like it'd be somewhere around 100mph (180ish in KPH).

well, at least he can hear now. i guess his original diff was grinding pretty badly. i was hoping he could source a LSD, but he couldn't find one in a short amount of time and needed to get it replaced asap.

The top speed should wind up around 130 limited by gears I believe. It hits that electoronic governor at 115, but looks like it could wind out just a tad more before running out of gears.
If you wanted a lot faster acceleration, you could go with the shorter gears of the auto diff on a manual car...or if you wanted more top end on an automatic, switch to the taller gears of teh 3.45. It depends on what kind of driving you do. I would like to lower the ratio a bit (maybe down to 3.10) to let it cruise on the highway more.
