Won't work for the 95 ti. The only CAI that will work for the m42 is from cosmoracing.com
It should run around $120 shipped

Yes kind of. The problem lies that the 1995 ti's had that stupid thing called an AFM which attaches with a squar-ish type hole. 96-99 cars had a MAF which is circular and works with the carbonio. I suppose if you made or bought an adapter plate it would work.

Isn't it the other way around? 95 = MAF and 96-99 = AFM ?

No problem. I actually just remembered that there is another CAI for the 95. It's the Carbon Dynamic Airbox, which is carbon fiber and has a hose which you can route down bellow for the cold air to enter. The only problem is that it costs around $245. I don't think anyone on this site has it, but for price wise you will like the Cosmo intake.

The M42 engine on the early 318ti (1996 below) used an AFM where as the M44 engine in the later ti's (1996 on) used a MAF sensor. The difference besides how "cold air intake systems" mount to them is in how the two units measure the incoming air volume. If you guys need to see BMW ETK parts diagrams I would be happy to pull them up so you can see the difference. We are working on a High Flow intake system that is going to be included in our lower stage naturally aspirated systems and also in all of our supercharged systems and I would be more than happy to let a few be tested by some members in about a month when we release the supercharger system. If anyone is interested, basically we could release 2 or 3 of our High Flow intake systems to be tested for a month or so by some of you to see what you think if you dont like them then you can return them and thats it if you like it then you can buy it at a discounted rate, all we want is the feedback you have posted on the forum. As always let me know if you guys have questions, product ideas or concerns. Contact me at home on AOL IM at jester4982 or at work by email at greg@seambmw.com or Windows Messenger at work at greg@seambmw.com.

I would be interested in trying out the high flow intake, keeping the car NA. Is it just a regular CAI or something different? pics? hp gains?

The bavauto isn't really a CAI it is just the filter with an adapter plate and there is no heatshield.

Hmm. Thanks for the heads up. I was close to going with that, but if its not a complete CAI, then nevermind.

Guys let me see what I can do to get some drawings or something to you, we dont release any pictures until the product itself is ready to be released, but again let me see what I can do. Also our system is a little different in that we dont use a cone filter for a variety of reasons and also because we seal off an area within the engine bay from which to draw cold air from. This keeps the filter from sucking in radiator wash and hot air off of the engine. Again let me see if I cant get our best ARTIST to draw up the system so we can give you guys a good idea. Pricing will be ~$190 that is for sure and you will recieve the heat shielding/ air intake, filter element, and MAF or AFM connecting plate. If you have any questions please feel free to ask!
