I have a silver 97 318ti in (i think) base spec-sills are black from the door down.. It has leather seats/gear knob sports/economy box parking sensors auto dimming rv mirror m sport steering wheel 1 touch opening elec windows/sunroof av.mpg/mph/miles left/time comp It doesnt have cruise control/traction (odd as i was told this was standard after a certain date, maybe just manuals...) heated seats. Anybody else out there have the m logo on their steering wheel? |
the different models only really apply to US-spec ti's, Euro-spec had totally different options |
hmm, we dont have those models here in Australia besides the Clubsport, which is the ///M Package. I have a '99 316i Contour Compact with the 1.9L M43TU engine. Yes, i know it's not a ti, but hay, they are the all same thing lol. It's Alpine White 3 with Grey Velour Trim. And the Contour package is like the top of the range sorta thing for the 316i. You got in the Contour package; 6 Stacker CD Air Conditioning Velour Seats and Carpets Leather Wrapped Steering Wheel and Gear Shifter Driver/Passenger Front and Side Airbags Automatic Stability Control with Traction Remote Central Locking Wide Side Body Mouldings Rear Wiper Heated Window Washers Fog Lamps Metallic Paint at no extra cost BMW Wheel Styling II 15" Alloys Individual White Direction Indicator Lights Convienient Closure for windows (Another rare, but standard piece of equiptment for the Australian Market) But, my Compact also has as extra cost options; Centre Armrest, which is quite rare in Australian Compacts Individual Headlining in Athranticite which is a very late model option |
I got a 96 318ti Sports in Australia with the MTech upgrades :) Suspension got replaced with height adjustable coilovers. |
thats awesome! i really do love the ///M Package on the compacts. |
My baby is a 97 in black w/Cali top, M badging and E-46 bumper, DASC, etc. I love this car but it's parked in the shop for the winter. Too many rocks on our winter roads. |
'2000 323ti Sport Limited Edition Imola Rot 2, full M-package by factory (front/rear bumper, Venturi side skirts, Mirrors) and lots of other stuff + the mods (details in my album) |

'95 ALASKA BLUE, ACTIVE, JUST WENT OVER 200000 MILES AND NEVER BEEN OUT OF ALASKA |
model options for 95 I've got a 95 Ti. My insurance card states it is a clubsport. It does not have the M-tech bumpers but does have the sunroof, cruise, leather, M44(may have been swapped, production date is 11/95), and LSD. Is this a clubsport? |
definitely not a clubsport, clubsports had half leather seats with red inserts and an M-tech kit, they were also only available in black or red what makes you think it has an M44? I know the later M42s had plastic oil filter housings like the M44s if that's what's confusing |
This particular Ti was in pretty rough shape back when I bought it. Alot of things were were below backyard quality. Anyways, the first time i ordered the oil filter, I got one for a 95(m42). Went to install it and it was way to big. I went back and ordered one for a 96(m44) and it fit. This may be just the filter housing? As far as the model goes I'm guessing the sport as it has the 4.10 lsd. Thanks for the reply |
Late 1995 m42's came with m44 style oil filter housings with a plastic cap. 4.10 rear gear ratio is not normal, though. Manuals have 3.45 and Autos have 4.44 ratios. The LSD is a nice option. Post your Vin No. here and you can find out what options your car came with: http://www.318ti.org/forum/showthread.php?t=18444 One more thing... what color is your car? Does it have M3 mirrors? Does the rear bumper have a diffuser? Are you side skirts body color or gray? Production date is in the same realm as clubsports, but that doesn't mean it is. |
