Hello JohnBoy, I have a 318ti M, i have a turbo kit that I want to install in it, a few parts missing but i can get them, I'm located in Virginia Washington DC area, Are you still in Florida? I have family in fort lauderdale

xxxJohnBoyxxx 01-18-2012 07:02 PM

Yes I'm in Gulfport, FL. Been here 11 years. My free install is going in the car the last week of January for the winner on 318ti (yoda). I have no problem helping you or doing the install but I will not be offering free installs moving forward. I will allow anyone to use my tools, cherry picker and driveway for free and questions or guidance is always free. I have everything for a install as far as tools go but you will owrk on your back if under the car at my house (No Car Lift)

What I'm saying is I don't want to install more turbos for free, I'm in real estate for a living.

Also what kind of turbo kit and what is missing? What type of manifold?

Thanks, John S

I'm surprised you even offered to do a free install, it's so very kind of you John. I can't imagine all the crap you have to deal with owning real estate and being a parent at the same time.

John you are a great guy and a pleasure to deal with
BIG +1 for John

Best Regards|

Should be a good kit. I purchased all my parts from that seller

mirkal77 01-23-2012 02:51 PM

Good to hear that, i know i need to do some plumbing work to fit the pipes, what else do you think I'm missing on that kit? I want to get everything so I can start getting my hands greasy. Thanks John!

Mirkal.

Mirkal.

It is hard to tell from pictures. I don't like using a RRFPR for boost enrichment fuel. I like to use a coded DME with a M3 MAF since the drivability is much better and you don't need to worry about lean spots. I didn't see a pipe with adapter for the BOV. The turbo oil return line might not work.

Here is the deal. This Friday we start a install of this kit on a 1996 318ti. This will be hosted live on 318ti on the front page so all can see us working on the install. By Monday next week we will know all items that are not good for this kit...Piping is easy to cut and fit.

This will be hosted on the 318ti.org page so only type in 318ti.org and it will take you to the ustream plug-in and you can see the install while it happens

Thanks a lot John, are you going to have a copy of it as well?

Yes I will have a high res copy in .avi format since all security cam video is kept for about 3 months then over written on the tera drive. It should fit on a few DVD's. I will also do a high speed video of the complete install in 5 minutes

john, youre TRUELY an amazing guy. Jean and I can not thank you enough for all your help. Youre a great tribute to this forum as well. You have such a kind heart. :) Good for you for offering to install yoda's turbo. jean and i were checking the forum all day to look at the progress :)))))

xxxJohnBoyxxx 01-29-2012 06:53 PM

Big thanks to Barrie at Midnight tuning for saving me on the turbo code flash. He wrote a 667 turbo code that was dead on the first start. I only asked this morning for the code and I get it back in like 15 minutes with the mods. It is not easy to take 668 code and graft it into a 667 DME but he did it on the first try. Car idles great can't wait to drive it late today. Maybe 6-7pm

As always thanks so much for your continued help and offering your coding work for free for this project

been wrenching for over 40+ years, but I'm interested to find out about your install,my forte is VAG(Volks,Audi,Porsche),have not alot experience with Bimmers except fot the 2002tii that I owned back in 71',please call me at 336-520-7465
