I KNEW IT!!!
I'm pretty sure I'm right.
Check all over the web, on this forum, and on bimmerforums.
They all say the same thing.
and I'm pretty sure that "1996 328ti" knows that he's talking about as he DID create this cool forum.

I don't pretend to know much but will inquire about it.

hey

actaully I want to side with you guys but like I said the factory said otherwise so someone please find out more before my eyes bug out of my head lol.

ti=touring internationale just like the 2002ti.
I've read it on the web so it must be true.
But seriously, how can ti be touring injected when iT is the touring.
And why even have an i at all. All BMWs are fuel injected except for maybe the diesels.

pdxmotorhead 09-23-2005 07:26 PM

Uhhh,,, ALL diesels are injected.... <grin>

Not all are turbocharged/.//

careful about what you read on the web

Like I said I want to side with you guys cause I want to win the argument with me dad. But the BMWFACTORY Itself the people who made these cars are telling me its Touring Injected.. So if anyone can find a reliable source and let me know please do so. I am very interested in this now.

ps : Not everything you read on the web is true.. You have to have good sources like BMW FACTORY or something.

ti is touring internationale as confirmed this weekend at Ofest by Mobile Traditions. For the final time, t is touring, i is injection but when it is ti, it is touring internationale. I'm not going to accept some guy in an office who simply is forwarding a list of definitions. When two people from Germany who work for Mobile Traditions, not Montvale NJ tell me it is touring internationale, I believe them!

Just think 2002ti and 2002tii.

LN318TI 09-25-2005 04:26 AM

for the last time !!!!

Geeze getting a little cranky about this ? I want to belive you but who the hell is the source of yours never heard of em. I got mine from customer service at BMW HQ. If you read something on a web page that doesn't make it true. Any joe smo can put one together. Again I say I am on your side. But BMW said different.

Now this makes sense:

Car: 1600ti/2002ti
Years Produced: (see note on production years)
Production Volume:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Both the 1600 and 2002 two door sedans were enhanced by ti versions. The ti stood for touring international, and the main distinction was twin Solex two barrell carbs to replace the single one barrell carb that was standard. Both models also came with improved suspensions as well as a clock in the dash board.

Neither car was ever officially imported into the United States because of polution regulations. Significantly, the restrictions against the 1600ti prompted Max Hoffman to suggest to BMW AG that they build the 2002.

Guess that solves that .. TI= Touring International

You have never heard of Mobile Traditions? They are the arm of BMW AG who are responsibile for the parts to the older cars.

>> Car: 1600ti/2002ti
Isn't this what I have been saying?

I knew it was touring international I just needed someone to back me up. And since the whole forum does and the above mentioned article does then I can consider this matter closed and I won the argument.
