Passenger strut failed this morning=( Heard a thump and that side went down.Got out to take a look and the wheel was tucking hard, tire rubbing on the inner fender. Limped it quick to the nearest parking lot (Washington County Fair Ground) and it is now sitting there. The girlfriend came and took me to work. I believe either the strut blew out or somehow the rod snapped. The lower suspension looked fine from what I could see through my foglight hole.

Edit: Coils are less than a year old so I should get a replacement no problem.

Earl 10-08-2012 11:50 AM

Strut somehow came unbolted from the strut mount and poped out=/

I'm still trying to figure out how that nut can even come loose at all. I installed the coils about exactly a year ago and we put that nut on tight=(

Some guy on instagram seriously asked me how he can get that much camber o_0 I told him to unbolt his strut and rest it inside his strut tower=D lol

I was going to put in a set of stock struts from my buddy but I figured I would have to take them out again anyways to put coils (or bags o_0) in again anyways. So, I figured just finding coils would be better. Thank you very much for the offer=)

dont be that guy, bags really kill the functionality and handling characteristics of a car

I know this=) But my frame rails being as low as they are now also kills the functionality and handling of the car=D We will see what winter brings.

Low and slow huh? well ill give it to you, your car does look great, i said the same to Eurohb, but i am not a fan of the hellaflush movement in general....very vdub

Definitely low and right now still pretty slow=) I just can't stand wheel gap, and the closer I get to the ground, the more I like how it looks. IDK what it is about it but it looks better to me. I take that as a huge compliment from someone who doesn't like the style. Thank you a ton=~)

cooljess76 10-08-2012 08:19 PM

Bummer dude. Glad you didn't get hurt or kill anyone. I understand the whole slammed/stance scene and I can appreciate the look. However I don't understand why people would compromise safety/handling with cheap Chinese suspension parts. Either spend the money and do it right or find another hobby. This time the car survived and nobody got hurt, next time might not be so lucky:wink:

Earl 10-09-2012 02:23 PM

Jaze on Stanceworks just saved the day. Hoping the coils come quick so I can get this booger back on the road=)

Mr.Squeelerz 10-09-2012 03:05 PM

Do you have a winter beater?

Hmm...hopefully It's within my budget=) I'll pm ya

Earl 10-15-2012 05:57 PM

Still waiting on the coils to arrive=( I may have a set of new wheels lined up for next season that sure won't be the norm on a Ti, or even an e36 for that matter=D

Earl 10-22-2012 02:40 PM

My wheels are up for sale, along with a set of 25mm H&R spacers. I decided to just get wider wheels. As in 10" wide wheels=D

Did you ever get that Sterring wheel?? If so, post up some pics!!

Earl 10-25-2012 09:21 PM

I did but the Damn hub I bought was cheap and wouldn't mesh with the splines on my column. So I guess don't buy cheap hub adapters. Lol ill get a picture up

Thank you very much. You're more than welcome to do yours the same color. Mine is coming off very soon

trikzta 11-06-2012 03:41 AM

see now you got me thinking lol but i dont think that lime green wheels would match a tan very much

Earl 11-06-2012 03:47 AM

Probably not. Lol

trikzta 11-06-2012 07:48 PM

How is the car washing situation for you cause I been thinking about plasti dipping my car but that's the only thing stopping me

Earl 11-06-2012 08:22 PM

Just use a microfiber cloth and you'll be okay. Also. do it with gallons. Don't do it with spray cans. I used 14 and would recommend at least 14 more. You need to lay it on with a gun and use 3 gallons=)

trikzta 11-06-2012 08:46 PM

Lol okay thanks for the advice

Earl 11-13-2012 12:06 PM

Saw some flurries yesterday and decided it was time to change out my wheels, and raise it a bit, until I get my beater insured.

Last picture with this setup:

And now:

Looks so gross=( Can't wait for what is in store though.
