That's a good ratio for the street. My 3.73 makes me want a 6th gear, good thing it's not my daily. I have a ton of OBDII parts, let me know if you need anything.

*my LSD came today, oh man what a wretched smell when I opened the box. I've been putting a new starter on the m44 for the time being so I can still get around without having to crank it over 6 times

spidertri 04-21-2009 03:44 AM

How's the starter coming along? You need to get it done by Sunday....

BMW_Hatchback 04-21-2009 03:50 AM

I got it in (I wish I heard that more often), and since I chose to take off the manifold to do it, I'm putting that back in, but it started raining, and I don't want water getting anywhere near its not supposed to be, so I hope its dry for a few hours tomorrow.

spidertri 04-21-2009 04:54 AM

Ah, how was it taking the manifold off? Hopefully it's dry a bit tomorrow for you, glad to hear it is coming together.

Nothing like the smell of old, used gear oil...

BMW_Hatchback 04-21-2009 09:59 AM

taking off the manifold was easier than I thought, its just keeping track of where each sensors, bolt, and nut goes when it comes to putting it back on. I get out of class at 2 so hopefully I'll have some time.

to wolf: the seller said he emptied it of gear oil before he shipped it, but I guess you can't get every drop out, man that thing reeks something wicked.

tiFreak 04-22-2009 12:14 AM

lol, you should have smelled it when one of the people in my auto tech class opened the front diff on a Subaru thinking it was the oil pan and dumped all the gear oil on the ground

BMW_Hatchback 04-22-2009 12:40 AM

I'm almost done putting everything back in (on the M44) but it began to rain again, I'll see what I can do tomorrow morning.
