M44 for sale

Marv-

I did an engine swap about 4 months ago and have a M44 out 1996 Z3. I bought the car with the engine in running condition but the engine would over heat after a few minutes since the water pump was dead. I tried to get the water pump out but managed to break the flange in the process on the pump. Knowing I would need to rebuild the engine since it had been overheated and the compression was down 40lbs on one of the cylinders, I took it out.

I replaced the M44 engine with one from a later year 318ti that a kid sold me since he was a putting an M3 motor in the car. I also had to swap out a few parts since the later model engine did not fit my car exactly. So I have and 1996 engine with wiring harness, exhaust header and emission equipment and computer from a 1998 318ti.

Let me know what parts you would like and make me an offer.

Take care,
Michael

I've got an M44 engine I just pulled out of my '97 ti. It ran great, smooth and strong. I pulled it because I'm converting to electric, not because of any issues with the engine or other ICE related stuff.

Let me know if you're still looking.

Thanks,
ARti
