96 318ti

1500$ runs and drives great just sprung a coolant leak yesterday. In the process of fixing. Has lots of upgrades. Car was being prepared for an engine swap. No time have the babies to worry about.

I think i just found an oil leak. Will be fixing tomorrow wednesday the 30th of Oct.

Chassis/Suspension/Brakes

Front calipers and rotors from 2000-2005 BMW 323Ci (convertible)
Struts are Bilstein PSS, if you need to find out the part number, they’re on the struts themselves
Coils are generic lowering springs, slightly stiffer spring rate. If you want to change them out, stockers are readily available in junkyards (the same springs that went into any 3-series (e30) from 1981-1990, or a Z3 of any age will work)
Front bushings have been replaced with urethane; lower control arm is new unit with brass balljoints.
Rear subframe bushings have been replaced with urethane, and trailing arm bushings with urethane and an eccentric bolt to allow alignment adjustment in the rear. Strut top mounts are replaced with urethane units as well. All urethane bushes are from powerflex
Chassis bracing in the front comes from an e36 convertible
Steering rack is from a 2003 Z3 2.8, tie rod ends are OEM replacement units

Lighting/Cosmetic/Interior
All exterior lighting is replaced with LED units in clear housings, euro-spec. Schottky diode modification was done to the blinker relay to keep it from blinking like a bulb is out.
Headlights are LED halos around glass-front euro-spec projectors, generic HID kit installed. The previous kit provided better illumination, but was replaced due to a faulty connector. They are cheap kits, so if you want to try for another set of lights, it’s not cost prohibitive.
Interior has been color swapped to black everything, except the dash which was painted.
Shift knob and e-brake handle are machined aluminum pieces from ECS tuning. Great except if they’re ever in direct sun. Holy Hot.
Seats are from an e46 coupe. Watch the power connectors, I just remembered that I only wire-nutted them in place. I had intended to go full connector, but never got around to it.

Engine/Drivetrain/Transmission
Head gasket replaced with OEM part, not MLS. Valves relapped, valve guide seals replaced. Timing chain tensioner replaced
Flywheel is JB Racing 215mm 9lb unit, replaceable friction surface. Clutch is OEM type, forget the brand.
Converted the ignition to coil-on-plug with an ebay bracket, and junkyard coilpacks. Coilpacks from e36 or e46 6-cylinders will work.
New guibo, driveshaft, and halfshafts, new rear bearings. Deleted the vibration reducer from the driveshaft (it was a vibration adder by the time I got the car, the rubber parts had melted and the weighted part was basically just a hula-hoop)
Replaced rear and front main seals in both the transmission and engine.
Limited slip differential is a medium case diff from a 1988 325is. 3.73 gear ratio.
Air filter is of unknown provenance, bracket is homebrew AF, a lot of ducting was deleted from the engine bay.
