Keys Flushed

Keys were in sweater. Taking a piss. Leaned over to flush toilet. Keys fall out of sweater into toilet. Keys are bye bye. No spare. Went to dealer. 2 keys $175 bucks. The end.

I call BS, everyone knows sweaters don't exist in SoCal...:wink:

But seriously man, that is the suck. At least you have a spare now.

+1

I did not own a sweater until I moved to NorCal...

HuGo 03-24-2009 08:27 AM

Well when it's 5:30am I'm sure you'll be wearing a sweater.

I never had a spare. I went to the dealer and they said it will take 3 days. I ordered 2 keys to have one as a spare now. I think I might have to take my car/keys to align the ECU/EWS again :frown: So for now my car is just sitting there :frown:

This is not the end of your woes. In 2 months your pipes will back up. Any chance you have a clean out in the basement and a plumber can get them?

Xenocide 03-24-2009 05:47 PM

damn that dealer took you.

My dealer hooked me up for $45 a key.

Maverix 03-24-2009 07:15 PM

Call up the California Waste Management company to give it back, or you're going to sue them.

Not for an OBD-II key.

Another thing that doesn't exist in SoCal - Basements...

Hugo, sorry about the keys, that sucks big time. Is it because of the swap that you might need the re-flash?

The first thing I bought for my car was a spare key.
May 17, 2006
$40.75 - cut charge w/code
3.77 - tax
$44.52 - Total

That's the only "reasonably priced" (relative to other dealers) item I can remember buying at the dealer.

Hmmm... after my "left my keys on the bus, but I flew home" debacle last weekend, I think I'll get another spare to hide somewhere. LOL

I thought they were higher for OBD-II.
My extra Mini key was $125.00.

$175 for two keys, what kind of keys though? Do they have the buttons or are they the valet looking master keys?

Borg561 03-24-2009 10:49 PM

Wow, that really sucks. I usually don't grab my keys until I'm headed out the door, so I shouldn't have this problem, at least at home.

I thought I read somewhere that the mini-key (the little plastic one) was more expensive then the regular or valet key. I can't remember where I saw that, so I could be wrong. This is a reminder though that I still need to get a spare key. Gonna give the dealer a ring in the morning to see how much.

Justin
