95 318ti works fine until warms up??
 

Hello guys need your help with my 95 318. Long story short, let my friend use for a few days until the day he called and said he let the car go low on oil ( car had oil leak) he was riding on Hwy when he heard the engine clicking noise. after adding oil clicking noise went away. The car sat for a few days then i went for a 30 min ride car worked fine one way on my way back car started shaking bad, gas pedal felt funny.

one month later the car starts and works fine for the first 30 min. then still starts but shakes, bad idle, engine light on. (a friend suggested bad cylinder)

I don't know what I could be, but the easiest method right now is to get your car scanned for codes to figure out why your engine light is on. It's been nearly a week, so you should get to that soon and not keep driving it as-is.

Since it is a 95, you may even be able to do the "stomp" test to figure out your codes. Search for the stomp test and you'll find answers.

Please scan and post codes so we can try to help figure out the issue. Also does the car drive with good power/acceleration and completely normal during the 30 minutes it drives good?

I had something like that after running for 10 minutes. I think it finally ended up being a ICV.

Yes the cars runs perfectly fine for a while then starts shaking bad?? I was getting check engine light but not anymore?? I been busy at work but would like to fix it my self 😄. Thanx for all the help

Fault codes are still stored even when the light goes out.

Yes follow the above post. Get us the fault code. It sounds like a sensor with a intermittent issue and will be stored. If it runs strong for the first 10 minutes the mechanical parts are all good and you a chasing a sensor issue

Took the car to a mechanic, hes telling me to replace o2 sensor?? Car still starts norman works fine for about 30 min then when i let sit for about 5 min and start again starts shaking bad and shuts off and somethimes i get engine light i also noticed a cliking noice from engine?? A neighbor is telling me bad cylinder??

Can you do a compression test? that will tell you if the cylinder or valves are damaged.

Also what does the rad fluid look like. You could have a crack in the head that opens up with heat then fouls the spark plug with rad fluid.

Just a guess and I will say one more time. YOU NEED TO PULL THE ERROR CODES>>>
