OEM Center Console with Armrest
 

I understand that a oem armrest out of a E36 will not fit in the 318ti's, Has any one ever modified one to work or has everyone just bought the retrofit kit for the 318ti. Or can you swap other parts out to make this all fit.

I bought the OEM kit for the 318ti. I think other model arm rests will fit, but the tray underneath is the real problem. That part is different.

Just swap your dash to M3 status and do whatever you want :)

I trimmed the center console from a 95' m3, and it fits in fine. the front edge isn't perfect, but unless you're staring right at it, you'd never know it wasn't factory.

any chance we can get pics of where it is not "right"? I have been thinking of this mod.

I have also been thinking of the Sedan dash too.. but that is "hopeful" mod unless it is a lot easier than it looks
