DASC 96 318ti Part Out

Parting out my entire poor 318ti, It was my baby until someone smashed into the front end in a parking lot, and long story short, estimated $5,500 repair in damage to front end, I get a destruction title and my car will never be able to drive again. So, sadly, I will be parting out my entire car. The damage is just 2 feet in, so everything including and past the tires are fine.

All prices are not including shipping, if you are interested give me your zip code and I’ll let you know shipping prices.

Also local pick up too for parts if you are in the Florida region, car will be located in Myakka Park Area.

Willing to negotiate on prices especially if you need a lot of stuff.

Price: $800. Prefer local pickup, but if you really want it I’ll ship it.

Drivetrain:
-Complete Automatic Transmission with differential and driveshaft: 97,xxx miles. Shifts smooth and no problems: $600, but will sell separately if you don’t need everything.
-Differential for a MANUAL ti 3.45:1 open diff, around 100,xxx miles: $200

Wow, really sorry about your loss. You car looked really clean. I trust you are OK. Good luck with the part out. How did you like the DASC/ 3.45/auto setup?

I need interior door pull handles. Not the one used to open the doors. Also need sunroof motor cover, without the switch. Price?

Thanks. It is a very garbage situation. Insurance companies don't care about you at all. We weren't in the car, it was parked at a Walmart lot and the guys van jumped the median and slammed into the front of the car. We never had the 3.45 diff in it, that was in preparation for a manual swap.

Dwimmerlaik: I'll get back to you on pricing.

Nope no frame damage and it was easily repairable, the cost of repair was just more than their estimated value of the car, so it gets a destruction title.

I had similar damage to my car and I was able to fix it. I got $4,000 from the insurance and I only spent $800 to repair it myself
I would keep the car and try to repair it  but then again I'm in love with my TI

BlackBMWs 05-04-2014 05:58 AM

Same with my E30 318ic. I got rear ended by a young man texting on his cell. Got $4400, bought the car back for $1100, repaired exhaust and bumper for $400 (Still have a quarter panel to straighten) but still zipping around. Don't know if a Salvage title in California is the same as a destruction title in Florida, tho...

The problem is in Florida when you get a destruction title you can never title it again. They classify it as the end of the car and it can only be used for parts. I don't think it can be titled differently in another state if I were to ship it here to CA where I live now. I'm pretty sure one state has to keep in line with another state's laws or something like that.
I mean if you guys think differently though let me know because that would be great.

Here in California you receive a Salvage title which I believe it means it can't be sold as used/clear, but can be sold and retitled by others as Salvage as well. Insurance companies won't cover it fully as it already been paid off once. I have coverage for me as a driver If I cause an accident for my salvage car, but no coverage to replace/fix it again.

Anyone know the CA salvage law any better?

herpaderp 05-05-2014 02:36 AM

How much to ship the DASC to 15224?

Just curious what was the insurance company's estimated value of your car?
Since I already know that the insurance company's estimate it is not a real world replacement value if you actually had to go out in the marketplace and physically buy this car!

skleeberg 05-05-2014 05:09 PM

I have a '97 ti and could definitely use the door panels if they are still available, but I was also wondering if you'd be willing to sell the whole car?

hodge 05-05-2014 05:24 PM

Yeah, I'd sell the whole thing if you want to.
