First Auto-X for me this weekend

Should be fun. Best part is a few friends are joining in the Porsche event. 50 cars, 4 BMWs, 3 are TIs.

I'll read through the threads to check what the best setting should be for my coilovers. Assuming firmer up front and softer in the rear. I have braces across f/r towers and a lower front x-brace.

Pics later... Tchau... :cool:

Honestly I have more fun at autox than track days.Doesnt destroy the car and its get intense when competing against similar cars.

Good luck!

All went well except eating a cone, dragging it back and getting a DNF.

It was a first time for three of us and we all had fun. Got complimentary comments on our TIs from very cool club members.

It was a fun event, my first Auto-X as well. I can't say it's more fun than track days, but it is certainly a great time..

I've killed a few cones this year ha.
It's all about fun and it sounds like you had a bunch.

BlackBMWs 10-18-2015 05:18 AM

Yup, great fun quotient for sure. I liked that I could run with the Cali top fully opened. Gripper seat to swap in for Track or Auto-X days would be a next upgrade.

I was bummed tho that my other TI did not make it down for a buddy of mine due to last minute mystery noises. Instead, I am pulling it apart looking for the thwacking sound like a failing Guibo, but is not... :frown:

I'll be watching for future events for sure. :cool:

I use a dot 4 point harness for autox, helps a ton with keeping me in my seat.

I guess this is the only dot approved harness you can buy I'm told
Really helps hold you in.I wanna say they sell for 120 but I got mine nearly new for 20 bucks.would prefer black but not to picky for that price.

Rich;

Those are the same harness belts I have, too. Uses the factory seat belt mounts, too..
