K, I just met another guy in town that owns a ti and we hung out for a while yesterday. Turns out he has had his for a while and knows all the little surprises the ti has in its arsenal.

Did you know that if the windows are down and the sunroof is open, and you get out of your car and lock the doors, holding the key in the locked position will close both windows then the sunroof..... Holy crap! It looks so smooth and high tech.

Also, apparently when the doors lock a little pin come out near the gas cap and locks it aswell! Most car companies are just starting to put that feature into their vehicles and my 12 year old beast has it. Thank god cuz these gas prices are ridiculous.

Additionally, There is a little string that you can pull from the trunk to open the gas cap if you really need to get some out, or if it is stuck. Crazy stuff.

PS: My gas cap lock dose not work, can anybody point me in the right direction on how to fix this. The pin just dosen't "shoot" out all the way.

Actually... yeah, I knew all 3 of those things. If you read this forum enough, you'll learn all sorts of trivia. :biggrin:

I also eventually figured out how to turn off my rear wiper, even though it's a bit counter-intuitive. LOL

wow... you just barely learned that?? its okay. some of us took some time to realize this. and while telling others of such features its hilarious looking at their faces. we have a pic of bobbak learning this too from last year. its a priceless pic. just sucks that there isnt a button to roll the windows down while walking up to the ti to freshen out the hot air inside on a hot day.

haha, I guess I just dont take the time to learn the ins-and-out of everything. I also just found out when I got my tint done that the window pop out in the rear.

OMG! haha. wow.... yeah, go explore the lil ti. you'll be amazed what it can do....

Any suggestions on how to fix the little gas cap lock?

I'd like to know this as well as my pin for my gas cap lock appears to be missing... anyone?

sry. no clue. the mechanism might be broken. have you tried to check under the car. between the body work to see if you can spot anything in there?

the roof an windows closing is called the "comfort closing" system. its in your handbook also :)

the gas flap lock has a small actuator, which does give up easily on most models

try deadlocking the car to re initialise

Use the key to lock, the turn the key to the furthest position possible in the same direction as to lock. this will dead lock the car.

if the flap doesnt lock then you need a new actuator. :)

there goes mallard to save the day. how do you know all these things like that?? lol. (do you know how to mount the AC Schintzer spoiler? lol)

schnitzer spoiler.. use sikaflex or similar anti fungal silicone glue (window glue) and tape in position for minimum 24 hours ;)

The window trick should work on every other power bimmer as well, I know it works on the e34s @ the house
