m44 timing chain

If it's like most chain-equipped engines I'd say wait until 150,000mi. Can anyone say otherwise for the M44?

itll be fine then, im building a m47 cranked one, just wondered while it was apart if it NEEDED one...

thanks!

Aha! It's already disassembled. In that case I'd say it's your call.

Well if its not past its sell by date, ill leave it, the engine will probably do 10-15 rallys, which are about 150 miles in each, plus some 100 miles road miles on average. so about 3-4,000 miles.

Looking forward to getting it in, its having a lexus is200 6 speed too!

timing chains don't really wear out like timing belts do, since you have it apart anyways I'd just replace the chain guides and tensioner
