Rough Idle and Sticky Throttle??

http://www.318ti.org/forum/garage_at...nt.php?id=2324

I've noticed that my car has a rough idle once the car is up to temperature. I have been doing some digging and I've noticed the idle control valve could be the culprit or the throttle body could use a cleaning. Is there anything else that could be causing this? I've also been noticing the gas pedal is mildly sticky and makes me botch up gear changes from time to time. Any relation between these two issues?

Thank you!

Check the routing of the accelerator cable and ensure it's not binding. Look at the throttle body and check it's not gummed up (it would have to be really bad to bind) I don't recall if there is a return spring on the accelerator pedal like the brake. Check for one.

Yes check Idle control to see if the valve is operating correctly. I think I cleaned mine with MAF cleaner years ago. Of course check for cracked hoses or loose clamps.

Does the car have any history of cooling issues?....

Let us know how it goes...

When i was purchasing the vehicle, the previous owner had told me that he replaced all of the coolant hoses. Everything cooling wise is completely fine. This may be a stupid question but the vehicle does need a water pump replacement. Would that affect either of these issues?
Thanks again
