Weird clicking noises from engine compartment HELP!!

Hey everyone I'm actually new to the forums and I wanted to post some video clips of this strange clicking noise coming out of my engine compartment.

I think a valve or valve spring must have broken in the head but there is no loss of power or any misfiring of any kind.

Could it be the timing chain plastic guides? I'm going to post some videos and have you guys take a whack it at... I'm hoping it's nothing catastrophic
:frown:

Check out the video inside the cabin and in the engine compartment.

Thanks guys!!!

My first thought would be, is there enough oil in the system, but you've probably already eliminated that. Not getting enough oil topside? I didn't hear anything from the cabin video.

Good luck! Perhaps someone else with a better tuned ear...

The noise kind of sounds like marble in a can? Like rattling marbles??

Agree, oil starvation issue. Did previous owner change the valve cover gasket? Could be an issue with the upper oil tube assembly being clogged. Would suggest you John's recommendation above, oil/filter change with seafoam added to oil to try to clean up any gunk. Then another oil/filter change. Not too expensive to do this and if it is the problem you're done. If not then next step is to take off valve cover and see if you can find where it's being starved for oil

Additionally, though it does sound like it is coming from the valve cover, double check your exhaust manifold for leaks too. I've seen exhaust leaks sound like this too and it was simply a bad exhaust gasket needing replaced. Is the sound there 100% of the time or does it come and go?

So I think I found the culprit! Very bad frayed drive belt that creating all that weird clicky-clack noise. The belt is very close in snapping so I am going to get it all serviced this week as well change the oil with some fresh Lubro-Moly Oil!! I also have worn axles that are getting replaced along with guibo and center drive shaft bearing/carrier this weekend.

Thanks for all your help guys!
